Rangers detain MQM leaders from Karachi Press Club

KARACHI: Hours after attack on ARY News office, Pakistan Rangers Sindh personnel on Monday took into custody Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders Farooq Sattar, Khawaja Izharul Hassan and Arshad Vohra from Karachi Press Club (KPC), ARY News reported.

Farooq Sattar, accompanied by Khawaja Izharul Hassan and Arshad Vohra arrived at KPC allegedly to explain MQM’s viewpoint on attack on ARY News office but Rangers personnel took the trio in their custody.

It is so far not known that the MQM leaders were arrested or just taken into preventive detention.

Earlier in the day, MQM workers ransacked ARY News office in Karachi’s Saddar area, damaged property and injured workers of the media group.
